BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – It was a busy Sunday morning for the Bronson Fire Department as they were called to two structure fires.
Fire Chief Scott Wilber says the first call came in just after 1:00 a.m. was a mutual aid request from the Orland, Indiana fire department for a full response to a house fire that started on the porch at 7460 North 1050 East.
Bronson firefighters were on scene for about 90 minutes.
Wilber says the second call came in just before 4:30 a.m. as they were sent to 181 Lyter Road in Matteson Township.
A neighbor noticed the fire which had been burning for some time. Fire crews arrived to find a mobile home fully engulfed in flames and partially collapsed from fire damage. No one was home at the time of the blaze.
Lifecare Ambulance, The Bronson Police Department, and the Michigan State Police also responded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The structure, valued at $10,000 and the contents, valued at $5,000 were declared a total loss. Crews were on scene for two hours.
