MILGROVE TOWNSHIP, IN (WTVB) – A surveillance operation in rural Steuben County Monday led to multiple arrests after detectives located a fugitive parolee, 35-year-old Dayton Penland, hiding in a vehicle leaving a Milgrove Township property.
The driver, 40-year-old Matthew Penland, was arrested for Assisting a Criminal (Class A misdemeanor) and held on a $2,500 bond, while suspected drugs were found in the vehicle.
A subsequent traffic stop on another vehicle leaving the same property resulted in the arrest of 50-year-old Christa Gilbert on charges including Possession of Methamphetamine and Obstruction of Justice, and 54-year-old Arthur Garcia Jr, for Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 3 felony) and possession charges.
Gilbert was released after posting 10% of a $7,500 bond, while Garcia remains in custody on an $8,000 bond.
