COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The annual Roof Sit For A Cause returns this today to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence
Beginning at 9:00 a.m., Executive Director Kim Hemkker and WTVB’S Ken Delaney will camp out on the roof of McDonalds on East Chicago Street in Coldwater to raise critical funding for the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence
This year’s event is particularly significant as it marks the 4oth anniversary of the Naomi Davis Shelterhouse, which provides 24/7 crisis response, emergency shelter, and legal advocacy for residents in need.
According to Hemker, community members are encouraged to show their support through several donation matching opportunities that could triple the impact of their contributions.
Hemker also says this year’s roof sit takes on more urgency in raising funds due to potential cuts later in the fall
Donations can be made in person at the McDonald’s site, via pledge by calling (517)278- SAFE, or online through the official coalition’s website at 278safe.com
