COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Despite the availability of vaccinations, the Branch-HIllsdale-St Joseph Health Community Health Agency is reprorting several cases of whooping cough in the area.
Community Health Agency Director of Personal Health and Disease Prevention Yvonne Atwood said there is one confirmed case of a young child in the Camden area.
Atwood said while many Amish families vaccinate, there are others that don’t and she is trying to convince them about the positive effects of the vaccinations.
There was also one confirmed case in St. Joseph County and the agency tried to contact those who may have been exposed.
