COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Crews from the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) traveled to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio this past weekend to assist in massive power restoration efforts following a destructive Friday windstorm.
The storm left approximately 6,000 customers in the dark, prompting an urgent call for mutual aid. In a show of regional solidarity, the CBPU deployed two skilled linemen and a bucket truck to join a coordinated response team tasked with repairing downed lines and clearing storm debris.
Working long hours alongside local Cuyahoga Falls crews, the Coldwater team collaborated with fellow linemen from Clinton, Michigan and Bryon, Ohio, to stabilize the grid.
The joint effort proved successful, systematically restoring electricity to the community while navigating the hazardous conditions left behind by the high winds.
CBPU officials expressed pride in their team’s dedication, noting that providing such vital assistance to neighboring states is a core part of their commitment to public service and utility cooperation.
