QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy Middle School has a new principal as the 2018-2019 school year gets underway.
The Quincy Community Schools Board of Education Monday night approved the contract for Brandon Suever, who had been a sixth grade math teacher at the Middle School.
He will take over for Josh Haggerty, who resigned late last month after accepting the principal’s job at Cherryland Middle School in Elk Rapids.
Haggerty said in his letter of resignation he had mixed emotions. He thanked Martin Chard for his leadership and guidance as interim Superintendent over the last year. He also thanked the community for their support and “always making my family and I feel welcome.”
The board also approved using sinking fund revenue to make changes or upgrades to the new bus garage.
Brand Construction of Quincy is building a new garage to replace the old one which was damaged in a May 2, 2018 storm. Winds gusting at up to 72 miles an hours blew off part of the roof.
