COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boy’s varsity soccer team kept its home winning streak alive Tuesday night with a 2-1 non conference win over Kalamazoo Central.
The Cardinals, who haven’t lost a game at home since October 2015, got on the board early with an Angel Rodriguez goal, assisted by Mubarak Said seven minutes into the game. Abe Alhijaji scored the second goal with 20 minutes to play in the half, assisted by Shaif Ahmed.
Kalamazoo Central pulled within one goal with five minutes to play in the first half. Both teams were scoreless in the second half.
Balal Nasser made four saves in goal as Coldwater improved to 2-1-1 on the season with the win. They will play in the Eaton Rapids Division 2 Invitational Saturday.
The Coldwater JV team gave up a goal in the last minute and fell to Kalamazoo Central 2-1. Brayden Boyd scored their lone goal, assisted by Drayke Fitch.
