MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school golf, Coldwater won the first Interstate 8 Jamboree of the season at Marshall Tuesday. The Cardinals finished first with a score of 175 which was good enough for a 13 shot win over the host Red Hawks. Marshall was second at 188 followed by Lumen Christi at 190.
Kelly Warner led Coldwater with a 42 as five Cardinals shot in the 40s. Molly Smith and Hunter Jenkot each had rounds of 44, Claire Sheppard shot a 45, Jayla Goodwin carded a 49 and Elloree Madden rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 54. Marshall’s Karlee Malone was the medalist with a 38.
Cross Country—
Bronson’s boys were eighth while the girls finished ninth on Tuesday at the Three Rivers Big Hill Invitational. Marshall swept the team titles. Luis Ortiz was ninth for Bronson in the boys meet with a time of 20:17. Xochitl Garcia was fifth for Bronson in the girls meet with a time of 23:17.

Girls Volleyball—
Union City’s girls volleyball team lost to Marshall 2-1 (26-24, 20-25, 23-25) but defeated Stockbridge 2-1 (25-19, 25-27, 25-21). Ryanne Pyles had 20 digs for the Chargers while Bracy Swift and Lillian Bambacht both had 15 kills. Lexi George recorded 51 assists.
In the junior varsity matches, Union City split with Marshall and Stockbridge. The Chargers defeated Stockbridge 2-0 (25-9, 25-22) but lost to Marshall 2-0 (22-25, 14-25).
