COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Economic Growth Alliance Executive Director Lisa Miller reported to the Alliance’s Board of Directors Monday that besides the 2020 expansion at Speedrack in Quincy, there are four other possible expansion projects that are considering Coldwater.
She didn’t say which companies are considering expanding locally, nor did she go into further details.
Miller reported the biggest employer in Branch County continues to be the Walmart Distribution Center with 1,146 employees. They were followed by Clemens Food Group with 950, ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital with 390 and Coldwater Community Schools with 307.
Miller said county wide goals for 2021 included a new housing project and a new manufacturing recruit. Downtown Coldwater goals include the U.S. 12 Corridor Improvement plan being completed, the opening of the Two Bandits Brewing Company and the reinstatement of festivals.
In addition, the B.C.E.G.A. agreed to pledge $1,000 a year for the next five years in support of the city’s application to the state to become a Main Street Community.
