UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – A quick response to a reported house fire in Union City Sunday morning is being credited with saving a home.
Fire crews were dispatched to the home on St Joseph Street at 8:30 Sunday morning and discovered heavy smoke smoke coming from the residence upon arrival. They were able to quicky extinguish the blaze and limit the damage to room of origin.
Union City received mutual aid Burlington and Athens Townships. There were no reported injuries, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Neighbors did report hearing some sort of explosion just prior to the fire.
