UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Both the Union City Chargers baseball and softball teams were victorious in their respective season openers on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers baseball team rolled to a 19-9 six inning run rule win over White Pigeon in game one of a scheduled doubleheader.
Mitchell Graham and Simon Swartzle each had 3 hits, while Dalton Hawk picked up the on the mound.
Game two was called in the 2nd inning with the the Chargers leading 2-1.
The Charger softball team swept a doubleheader from White Pigeon with a 15-1, five inning run rule win in game one.
The Chargers then outslugged the Chiefs in game two 18-10.
