COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater city officials are reminding residents that open burning is strictly prohibited within Coldwater city limits as spring cleanup begins.
To help community members manage yard debris without illegal fires, the City has announced that the first scheduled yard waste and brush pickup of the season will begin on Monday, April 6.
Penalties could result civil fine of not less than $50, plus costs and other sanctions, a second offense, within a period of 90 days, violators would be subject to a civil fine of not less than $100, plus costs and other sanctions, a third offenses, within 90 days, could result civil fine of $250, plus costs and other sanctions, for each infraction.
For those who prefer not to wait for curbside collection, the Municipal Services Department compost site remains available for immediate use.
Located at 45 Industrial Avenue, the site is open daily from dawn to dusk for yard waste drop-offs.
