ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan men’s basketball team jumped up three spots to number four in the latest Coaches Basketball Poll.
U of M topped Maryland and Purdue last week to improve to 13-and-1 overall and 8-and-1 in the Big Ten. Michigan will not take the floor again until at least February 11 as all sports are on a two-week pause. The school is taking the break to deal with a rise in positive cases of a COVID-19 variant within the athletic department.
Gonzaga tops the poll for the eighth straight week. Baylor is still second followed by Villanova, Michigan and Texas.
Houston climbed to sixth, while Iowa, Alabama, Virginia, and Texas Tech round out the top-10.
