COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council got an update Monday night on a Boy Scout project to improve the trail around the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Project leader and Eagle Scout candidate Stuart Sobeske told the Council they got donations from local businesses for the project which started two years ago.
The trail was cleared of overgrown and fallen trees. It was then marked.
Boy Scouts from Troop 433 worked on the project along with students from the Branch Area Careers Center, workers from Voltek and other volunteers.
Ground cloth was put down to prevent the growth of weeds and then wood chips were put on top.
Sobeske said the trail is about three-quarters of a mile long. He said the project was a valuable experience because it taught him a lot about leadership.
