QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – After opening up against 4-1 halftime lead, the Coldwater High School girls varsity soccer team held on for a 5-4 win in The Battle of the Birds at Quincy Thursday.
Sam Bernard had three goals, with one each for Ava Gilchrist and Aivry Chavez.
Etta Machan and Salet Morera Valdes each had one assist as Coldwater improved to 1-0.
Laura Bostic led Quincy with three goals, with the other from Kenzie Maynard, as the Orioles drop to 1-1 on the season. They will host Calhoun Christian Monday.
Coldwater has their home opener Monday against Michigan Center.
