Judith Ann “Judy” Ashby, 81, of Coldwater passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
A visitation for Judy will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Judy was born December 20, 1944 in Amherst, Ohio to David and Evelyn (Jackson) Henderson. She later married Phillip Ashby, who preceded her in death.
She was a woman who found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She had a deep love for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her flowers, creating colorful spaces that reflected her care and patience. She also enjoyed working on puzzles, always appreciating the quiet satisfaction of their completion.
Above all, Judy cherished her family. They were the center of her world, and she took great pride in the time she spent with them. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Judy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in every blooming flower, and in the quiet moments she so dearly loved.
Judith leaves behind her daughter Deborah (Charles) Burgoon of Coldwater; her sister Carol Vargo of Bronson; her grandchildren Chad, Amanda, Tanya; great grandchildren Justis, Juliahna, Pierce, Taiven, Loxlyn; her 2 great grandchildren and her loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Phillip, Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her sons James and Michael Carver, and her brother Bruce Henderson.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Branch County.
