April 14 (Reuters) – Rory McIlroy’s Masters win gave a boost to CBS Sports, with the network reporting that Sunday’s final round averaged almost 14 million viewers, an increase of eight percent on 2025 when McIlroy completed the career Grand Slam.
CBS said on Tuesday that viewership peaked at more than 20 million — the largest for Augusta National since 2013 when Adam Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters, claiming his first major with a playoff victory over Angel Cabrera.
McIlroy, after squandering a six-shot lead through 36 holes, held his nerve to finish on 12-under, one shot clear of Scottie Scheffler, becoming the fourth player to win back-to-back Green Jackets.
The victory was the sixth major championship of McIlroy’s career.
