COLDWATER, MI – Coldwater was able to get in its Interstate 8 girls soccer opener against Marshall Thursday despite a heavy downpour that made its grass field unplayable and postponed the contest for over an hour. Action was moved to the turf at Cardinal Field, where the Redhawks blanked the Cardinals 7-0.
Marshall led 4-0 at halftime and scored their seventh goal right as the horn sounded to end the contest.
Coldwater fell to 2-2-1 overall, 0-1 in the Interstate 8, and will host Battle Creek Central Saturday morning.
The Cardinals also lost the JV contest 1-0.
OLIVET, MI – Bronson fell to 1-2-1 as they dropped a 7-0 decision at Olivet. The Eagles led 5-0 at the half, but the Vikings were able to avoid getting mercied.
Bronson will play at Sturgis Saturday morning.
