BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Two teenagers were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning near the intersection of North McKinley Avenue and NE Capital Avenue in Battle Creek.
According to Battle Creek Police , a 17-year-old female and an 18-year-old male were sitting in a parked vehicle around 4:30 a.m. when an unidentified individual opened fire on them. Despite their injuries, the victims were able to drive themselves to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Hospital officials confirmed that both teenagers are currently in stable condition as they recover from their wounds. As of Sunday afternoon, Battle Creek police have not announced any arrests in connection with the incident, and no suspect descriptions have been released.
Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Battle Creek Police Department or provide an anonymous tip through Silent Observer.
