COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 19-year-old woman is being held in the Branch County Jail without bond after she was charged with four counts Tuesday in a child sex and pornography case.
Jayme Lynn Lapoint was arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation.
She was charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct, child abusive commercial activity, using computers to commit a crime and distribution and promotion of child abusive commercial activity.
Court documents indicate the alleged victim in the case is a two-year-old girl.
The alleged crimes took place last October while Lapoint was babysitting the youngster. Counts two, three and four were filed for her alleged use of a cell phone to send video to her husband of the sex acts.
Lapoint was arraigned Tuesday in Branch County District Court where bond was denied. She is scheduled to appear for probable cause hearing next Tuesday. A preliminary exam was set for August 14th.
