SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 40-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Sherwood Township when he allegedly set fire to a shed after being told by his landlord that he and wife were being evicted.
Michigan State Police from the Marshall Post say that during the course of their investigation, a search warrant led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine in the residence which is located in the 1200 block of Chippawa Drive.
The suspect was arrested for third degree arson and possession of methamphetamine.
He was lodged at the Branch County Jail. His name is being withheld pending an arraignment in Branch County District Court.
The Sherwood Township Fire Department was called in to put out the fire.
