COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Republican State Representative Jennifer Wortz has officially launched her campaign for the 35th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Representing Quincy, Wortz filed her candidacy early in January, positioning herself for re election to the two-year term against Democratic challenger Jeff Cooley of Hillsdale.
Simultaneously, the regional political landscape is being shaped by Republican Jonathan Lindsey’s bid for re election to the Michigan Senate in the 17th District. Lindsey, a Coldwater resident, faces a crowded field of democrat contenders for the four-year term, including Ashleigh Baker from Marcellus , Mike D. Jones of Niles , and Brett Muchow from Buchanan .
Both Wortz and Cooley will advance to the November General election, While Lindsey will face the survivor of the three democrats in the August primary in the general election in November.
