COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Rotary Club recently donated $5,000 to the Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council to help offset the costs of replacing the 50-year-old boilers in the historic Tibbits Opera House.
It was the largest local contribution for the project and is on top of a $3,000 donation from the Rotary Club last year.
The building that houses the boilers has been painted which was the final part of the project.
While the total project cost came in under budget, fundraising continues. The gift from the Rotary Club left Tibbits about $4,800 short of its goal.
The old boilers were replaced with two high-efficiency natural gas boilers. Repairs were made to the building in which the boilers are housed to protect the new equipment and improve the boilers’ efficiency.
