COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There will be a change in the day when the Coldwater High School commencement ceremony will be held under the 2026-2027 calendar that was adopted by the Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education on Monday night.
The 2027 ceremony will be scheduled for the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend which is May 27 of next year.
Superintendent Paul Flynn said there was a discussion about having graduation on Friday but it was felt having it on Thursday would allow many families to get a head start on the holiday.
The Coldwater High School graduation ceremony has traditionally been held on a Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.. This year’s ceremony is set for May 31.
In other business, the board extended the contracts for Superintendent Paul Flynn and district administrators. They also approved a one year contract extension for Chief Financial Officer Rachelle Roby.
