COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – U.S. Army veteran and Coldwater native Charles R. Scott was honored Monday as the “Veteran of the Month” for May by U.S. Representative Tim Walberg.
Scott, who reached the rank of staff sergeant during his service from 1979 to 1992, completed tours in Korea and Germany and was awarded multiple medals, including the Army Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. During a ceremony in Coldwater, Walberg presented Scott with a formal proclamation and an American flag, acknowledging his decades of sacrifice and his continued dedication to his fellow service members.
Beyond his military career, Scott was recognized for his significant impact on the Branch County community, where he served as the Veterans Affairs Coordinator for 22 years.
