DALLAS, TX (WKZO AM/FM) – Seven different Stars scored goals in a 7-3 rout of the Detroit Red Wings Thursday night in Dallas.
Denis Gurianov had a goal and two assists as Dallas won its fourth straight game to start the season. The Stars’ first four games were postponed due to COVID-19. Miro Heiskanen had three helpers for Dallas.
Valtteri Filppula, Tyler Bertuzzi and Danny DeKeyser scored for Detroit, which lost its fourth in-a-row. The Red Wings are 2-5-and-1 overall.
Detroit goalie Jonathan Bernier left the game after two periods with an upper body injury. The Red Wings host the Florida Panthers tomorrow night.
Jimmy Howard is hanging up the skates after 11 NHL seasons, all with the Red Wings. Howard ends his career with a 246-196-and-70 record and ranks third in wins and fourth in shutouts in franchise history.
In the 2009-10 season, he was runner-up for the Calder Trophy, given to the top rookie in the league and was also a two-time NHL All-Star.
