Lonzie Cole, 87, of Union City passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral service celebrating Lonzie’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI with Jacob Washburn officiating.
Cremation will follow and private interment will be held at a later date in Sherwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m., also at the Lighthouse.
Lonzie was born February 15, 1939 to Noble and Flossie (Salyer) Cole in Salyersville, Kentucky. December 20, 1958 he married the love of his life Beverly (Jacobs) in Union City. She preceded him in death July 6, 2008.
Lonzie worked for Greg Hull Farms in Union City for many years as a truckdriver. He enjoyed driving truck, watching westerns, listening to bluegrass going to breakfast at Mel’s Diner in Union City and Jeanie’s Diner in Coldwater, and spending time with family going on many family trips and outings.
Anyone that has every came in contact with Lonzie, has always experienced a joyful and loving connection with him. He is social butterfly always willing to talk to anyone in new places. Many close friends can only describe him as the lovable and kind guy and will greatly missed in morning during morning gossip,
Surviving his brother-in-law Raymond Miller, his children; Terry Cole of Union City, Dianna Cole of Union City, and Jerry “Buck” Cole of Burlington; grandchildren, Kate (Tim Cornell) Cole and Logan Cole, both of Union City; great grandson Easton Cornell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Beverly, Lonzie was preceded in death his parents; daughters, Sherri and Becky Cole; sisters, Virginia Collins and Ruby Miller; and a brother, Charles “Jesse” Cole.
