Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Derrickson, 86, of Quincy passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his home under hospice care, surrounded by his family.
In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family will host a celebration of Jerry’s life at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Jerry was born May 25, 1939 to Edward and Maxine (Luce) Derrickson in Coldwater, Michigan. He graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1958. He married Karen Foley September 5, 1981 in Quincy.
Jerry worked at Darling Display, Inc. in Coldwater for many years. He retired in 2012 from Leticia in Fremont, Indiana after 15 years.
In Jerry’s free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, mushroom hunting, gardening, any other outdoor actives, spending time with his family and friends, being at the family farm, vacationing at the family cabin, doing hobby carpenter work, and teasing people.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Derrickson of Quincy; his children, Jeff Derrickson of Mendon and Chris (Renee) Derrickson of Sturgis; his step-children, Laura (Dennis) Bender of Battle Creek and Mike Enos of Coldwater; his siblings, John (Sharon) Derrickson of Coldwater and JoAnn (Jerry) Snyder of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
