COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – National Weather Service forecasters are predicting Branch County will get a moderate snowfall Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Most of Branch County is expected to get between four and six inches of snow while the southeastern part of the county could get as much as eight inches.
Heavier amounts of snow are expected to fall to the south of Branch County.
A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for northern Indiana and northwest Ohio as some of those areas could see between seven and nine inches of heavy, wet snow as the system moves in from the southwest.
National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Roller says the snow is expected to arrive Saturday evening. Winds are expected to pick up as well but blowing and drifting snow is not expected since the snow will be wet and heavy.
He says the snow is expected to cover a wide area.
Travel on Saturday night and especially on Sunday morning will be impacted.
If you must be on the road, make sure you have a winter survival kit that includes shovels, scrappers, warm clothing, a flashlight, non perishable food and bottled water.
