HOWE, IN (WTVB) – The Bronson Viking golf team got one last round of play in before next week’s Regionals. They took on Colon at Cedar Lake Golf Course in a scramble format, and there was a four-way tie atop the leaderboard.
Finishing with a nine-hole score of 44 were Colon’s Carter Hetman and Davis Lafler; Bronson’s Layne Arver and Naz Salesman; Bronson’s Berklee Wgaman, Drew Shoup, and Madelyn McCullough; and Colon’s Emmitt Schumacher and Josiah Edwards. Bronson’s duo of Andrew McConn and Joseph Bir tied for fifth with Colon’s trio of Josh Frohriep, Maximus Fellers, and Tanner Davis, with each group carding a 50. The Bronson trio of Ashlynn Fisher, Audi Keller, and Lauren Montoya scored a 64.
The Vikings will compete in an MHSAA Division 3 Regional next Tuesday, hosted by Schoolcraft at Island Hills Golf Club.
AUGUSTA, MI – Coldwater sent a JV team to the Gull Lake JV Invitational Wednesday at Stonehedge North, and out of the twenty-three teams that started the round, Coldwater came in fifth place overall for the day, shooting a team score of 344. Gull Lake won the event with a 332, followed by Mattawan with a 336.
Coldwater was led by Braxton Bercaw, whose 83 was good enough for a top 10 finish. Besides Bercaw, three other Coldwater golfers shot in the 80s for the day: Liam Doll had an 85, Cohen Taylor shot an 87, and Parker Nelson had an 89. Aiden Parker was the 5th score for Coldwater with a 97.
