READING, MI (WTVB) – Bronson allowed just one hit the entire afternoon as the Viking softball team took two games at Reading Wednesday, 16-0 in five innings and 21-0 in three, in a doubleheader that was rescheduled from Monday’s rainout. In the process, Bronson clinched a share of the Big 8 Conference championship.
In the first game, Madison Shaw tossed a one-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts. Ashlynn Harris and Roni Bir each went 2-for-4 with a triple, while Harper Ratkowski was 2-for-2 with a double.
Harris threw a no-hitter with six strikeouts in the second game. She also finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a homer and four RBIs. Lydia Wells hit two doubles and drove in two runs, and Makenna Arnett had five RBIs while going 2-for-2.
Bronson improved to 28-5 overall and finished tied with Springport atop the Big 8 standings at 11-1. The Vikings will travel to Niles Brandywine on Friday.
