COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Downtown Development Authority and Main Street Director Kristen Johnson told the D.D.A. Board on Wednesday they have received national accreditation for 2026.
She said it’s believed this was Coldwater Main Street’s first year of eligibility and that they found out about the designation from the national organization two weeks ago.
Johnson stated this was a big deal because it takes a lot of work to meet the criteria to reach this level.
Main Street America is based in Chicago and its web site states an accredited status is their top tier of recognition. .
According to Johnson, the national accreditation will allow the Coldwater Main Street organization to receive additional resources and new opportunities for grants.
Johnson said Coldwater’s Main Street program was one of 17 in Michigan to receive a national accreditation.
