COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District (ISD) Board of Education appointed Brad Parrish as its newest member during its meeting on Wednesday.
Parrish was chosen to fill the sudden vacancy left by Chantal Paxton, who officially submitted her resignation after nearly 13 years of continuous service representing the Quincy school district.
Board Chair Ken Norton says that while the transition comes unexpectedly, the board used its statutory prerogative to swiftly appoint a qualified successor to maintain seamless leadership for the district.
Parrish is officially scheduled to be sworn in and welcome his new duties on June 16, 2026.
The board also approved a 4% wage increase for the 2026–27 fiscal year for approximately 300 certified and non-certified staff members under the district’s main bargaining group.
