DETROIT (WKZO AM/FM) – An agreement has been reached in a longtime corruption investigation of the United Auto Workers by the US Attorney’s office.
A federal judge signed off on the document on Friday.
The agreement calls for an independent monitor to supervise the union’s financial status, how it elects new members to the international leadership team of the UAW, and takes care of its unpaid tax liabilities.
A federal lawsuit was filed in December alleging corruption in the union dating back more than 10 years.
