Ronald S. Ankney, 77, of Coldwater passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
Ron was born August 12, 1948 in Coldwater to Harold G. Ankney and Frances M. (Knight) Ankney. He married the love of his life, Diana M. Wood, March 14, 1970, and together they shared over 56 years of marriage.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he worked as an attendant at the State Home. Ron later became the owner and operator of Ron’s Hauling Trucking Service. He was a dedicated member of American Legion Post #259 in Bronson.
Ron found great joy in woodworking, hunting with his Grandpa Perry, spending time outdoors, gardening, caring for his flowers, watching birds, riding his side-by-side, and taking trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Above all, Ron cherished time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love and guidance will be deeply missed.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Ankney; daughters, Kim (Robert) Miller and Trudy (Bill Derrickson) Cook; brother, Donnie (Theresa) Ankney; grandchildren, Chase (Alicia) Miller, Jacob (Lucy) Miller, Nicholas (Ally Parrish) Cook, and Breydyn (Emma Scholfield) Cook; great-grandchildren, Sonny, Frankie, and Ronnie; special friends, Mike and Rochelle Shepard; his faithful dogs, Frank and Lucy; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Ankney, and his brothers, Larry Ankney and Gary Ankney.
