COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools and Chartwells have officially launched their “SUN Meals To-Go” program to provide local children with consistent nutrition throughout the summer break.
The summer program began this past Tuesday. The drive-thru service operates every Tuesday through August 4 in the Legg Middle School parking lot off Western Avenue.
Families can drive up between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to collect a full week’s worth of food, totaling 14 free meals—seven breakfasts and seven lunches, per child.
Jayna Garner from Chartwells on what kids will receive
She says kids will receive some of their school lunch favorites.
The program is completely free and open to all individuals 18 years old and younger, regardless of whether they attend Coldwater schools, and Tamara Santora, Director of Dining Services, says the funding is through a federal program.
To maximize convenience for busy parents, children do not need to be present in the vehicle during pickup, and no paperwork, registration, or proof of income is required.
