COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service predicted highs in the mid 90s and heat index readings near 110 Saturday, but it did not get that hot as the sun was covered up by partly to mostly cloudy skies.
Saturday’s high recorded at the Branch County Memorial Airport just before 4:00 p.m. was 91 with the heat index getting as high as 95.
The Excessive Heat Warning issued by the NWS remains in effect until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, with high temperatures predicted in the lower 90’s the afternoon and heat indices to range from 100 to 105 degrees.
