COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After both having outstanding seasons, several members of the Coldwater and Bronson High School softball teams have picked up post season honors from the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association.
Coldwater senior Mya Porter and sophomore Laynie VanAken were named to the Division 2 All State First Team, while senior Rylie VanAken was named Honorable Mention.
The Cardinals finished the season with a record of 30-2, winning the Interstate 8 Conference title and ranked second in the last regular season poll.
For Bronson, outfielder Braelynn Gimenez, cather Lydia Wells, and utility player Ashlynn Harris. were all named to the Division 3 All State First Team. Pitcher Madison Shaw was named Honorable Mention.
Bronson closed out their season with a 35-6 record, falling to Ravenna in the state quarterfinals.
