STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis, has announced a push to hire displaced healthcare workers following the news that Sturgis Hospital is permanently ceasing operations.
Following Sturgis Hospital’s announcement that it will close its doors, Thurston Woods Village reached out to offer its support and provide employment opportunities to affected hospital staff.
As the largest healthcare employer in the Sturgis area, the faith-based, not-for-profit retirement community is looking to fill a variety of healthcare roles across its Sturgis and Coldwater campuses to ensure continuity of care in the community.
Available positions at Thurston Woods include Licensed Nurses (RN/LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), rehabilitation specialists, medication technicians, and various support services such as maintenance, housekeeping, and culinary.
Officials from Thurston Woods stated that while they are disappointed about Sturgis Hospital’s closure, they are hopeful their recruitment drive can help ease the employment uncertainty for affected hospital associates.
