LITCHFIELD ,MI (WTVB) – A missing 14-year-old girl from Litchfield, has been found safe after an extensive, multi-agency overnight search that began Wednesday evening.
Police say they initiated the search when the teenager did not return home after going for an evening run.
The exhaustive search effort, which continued into the early hours of Thursday morning, included multiple local and state law enforcement agencies, K-9 units, volunteer bloodhounds, and several fire departments canvassing the area.
According to Litchfield Police Chief Dan Roberts, the resolution came just before 7 a.m. this morning, when the teen safely approached him while he was on patrol.
She has since been returned to her family’s home. Police did not release any information on her whereabouts during the search.
