COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Chicago man was arrested Friday after allegedly attempting to purchase two jet skis and a trailer at Planet Powersports using a fraudulent identification card and another person’s identity.
Deputies from the Branch County Sheriff’s Office responded to the business around 11:30 a.m. on June 19, 2026, following a report of the suspicious transaction.
When deputies arrived, the suspect fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.
A perimeter was quickly established, and a K-9 unit was deployed to assist in the search. After an extensive search, deputies located 36-year-old Joseph Donnelle Boose and took him into custody without further incident.
He was arrested and lodged pending further proceedings. The investigation remains ongoing, and a report has been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for review of potential charges.
