COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County residents are in for a pleasant, mild weekend before a major heat wave grips the the area starting Monday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service say that both Saturday and Sunday will feature comfortable, seasonal temperatures and low humidity, offering the perfect opportunity for outdoor activities.
The comfortable weather will abruptly shift at the start of the new workweek as a high-pressure system ushers in an intense heat wave.
Beginning Monday, temperatures are projected to surge well into the 90s, with high humidity pushing heat index values well into triple digits.
Health officials are urging you to prepare by checking cooling systems, drinking plenty of water, and planning ways to stay cool during the upcoming stretch of dangerous mid-summer heat.
