COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities will be asking Branch County townships, villages and cities to assist in the cost of collecting items during their annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
The collection day this year will be Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
CBPU Director Jeff Budd told the utility’s Board of Director last week the goal in the past was trying to keep items out of their wellhead protection area.
Unless they can find a vendor, Budd says they don’t think they will collect electronic waste this year.
According to Budd, it cost them an extra $13,000 last year to collect such items as keyboards, mouses and other computer equipment.
Budd says for now they will market the collection primarily to the City of Coldwater. Letters will be sent to administrative officials around the county to see if they want to participate
