OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The results of an autopsy show that the June 3, 2018 death of an Ovid Township man was a homicide.
36-year-old Grant Gregory Morrison died at his home in the 400 block of Morning Glory Lane where a fight took place between Morrison and a 40-year-old man from Coldwater.
Michigan State Police Troopers were dispatched at about 12:25 a.m. that morning on a report of an assault at the residence.
Morrison was unresponsive when troopers arrived and CPR efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He had reportedly been choked during the fight.
Medical Examiner Dr. Troy Davis says the cause of death was asphyxiation due to neck compression.
State Police investigators are still waiting for toxicology tests to come back.
No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed yet.
