COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Lake Association is celebrating Independence Day with a full weekend of festivities, culminating in their annual fireworks display over the middle of Coldwater Lake at dusk on Saturday, July 4.
The patriotic schedule also features a community Pancake Breakfast on July 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the association building.
Leading up to the main event, the lake community is hosting a festive Flotilla on Friday, July 3, where boaters are invited to decorate their watercraft in patriotic themes.
Fire works on the lake are scheduled for dusk on Saturday night, Coldwater Lake Association President Tom Manning says they will be a littler lager this year to celebrate the countries 250th birthday, and they are completely funded through private donations.
In addition to the daytime and evening events, residents around the shoreline are participating in a local tradition by lighting up their docks and seawalls with luminaries before the fireworks show.
