COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Office partnered with Tommy’s Express Car Wash on Saturday, June 27, to host a highly successful community fundraiser for the annual “Shop with a Hero” program.
During the one-day event at the Coldwater location, the car wash designated $2 from every single vehicle wash toward the annual holiday tradition.
Thanks to the strong showing from area drivers, the business secured a $1,000 donation to directly aid local families.
General Manager Janet Musselman and Captain Todd Riley expressed gratitude to the community for turning out to help give back to children in need.
Every December, the program pairs area children with local police officers, firefighters, and medical first responders for a special holiday shopping trip to the Coldwater Walmart.
The children are given gift cards to pick out Christmas items for themselves and their families, as well as toys to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. Organizers emphasized that this weekend’s fundraising success will allow even more children to take part in the festive tradition later this year.
