QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The drier weather is a welcome site in Quincy today after mother nature followed up severe storms on Friday with torrential down pours Sunday morning that the National Weather Service says dumped around three inches of rain in a little less than three hours forcing the temporary closure of multiple roads in Quincy and Algansee Townships.
Emergency Management Director Tim Miner said combined with Friday night’s storm system across the county the culverts were overwhelmed by Sunday morning’s heavy rain.
Doug Everline lives on Ray Quincy road and says it’s been decades since the area has seen so much rain in such a short amount of time.
David Neitzert had to move his vehicles from his driveway to avoid the fast rising water
Branch County Road Commission Manager Jay Miller and his crews have been out today assessing any potential damage that may have been left behind.
