COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater artist and U.S. Army veteran David Van Voorhis will showcase a collection of “slice of life” oil and acrylic paintings at the Tibbits Art Gallery from July 8 to August 19.
The solo exhibition features subjects ranging from the American West to country living, with a free public reception on July 14 at 5:30 p.m.
With a career spanning early training in Detroit and an unique tenure as a muralist for the 66th Military Intelligence Brigade in Germany, Van Voorhis’ works reflect a lifelong artistic passion.
Following his military service, he worked in the commercial art sector for firms including Dow Chemical and Skidmore Studios. The Tibbits Art Gallery is open for the exhibition Monday through Friday by appointment and during scheduled events.
