QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Community Schools Board of Education approved the hiring of Joseph Wright Monday night as Quincy’s new high school principal.
Wright was given a two-year contract. He previously had been the Dean of Elementary Students at Pansophia Academy in Coldwater.
Wright has been in education for 11 years which includes work as a athletic director and special education teacher in Florida. He has also served as the Dean of Middle School students at Endeavor Charter Academy near Battle Creek.
Also Monday night, the school board approved Brand Construction of Quincy as the contractor to remove the debris from the district’s bus garage which was damaged in a May second storm.
Winds gusting at up to 72 miles an hours blew off part of the roof. Brand would also build a new bus garage.
In addition, the board ratified a tentative new contract with the Quincy teacher’s union. The union has not voted on the new deal yet.
