COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The suspect in last weeks murder at the Clemens Processing Plant was back in court Thursday before Judge Brent Weigle.
During the hearing defense attorneys brought to the courts attention that the suspects recorded name since his arrest on June 30, has been backwards, with his actual name being Djempsley Valmir.
Due to the continued discovery in the case both the prosecution and defense agreed to move on to the next hearing date before presenting any further arguments in the case.
Valmir will be back in court next Thursday at 9:30 a.m. for a conference only and to have a re arraignment under the correct legal name.
Earlier this week DHS officially placed a ICE hold on Valmir, a Haitian immigrant, saying he illegally entered the country with a border crossing in Texas back in 2024.
